Vintage 1950s silk floral trimmed hat。This is a beautiful sample of the fabulous millinery fashions of the 1950s\'! This cap consists of a rigid structure covered in black velvet at the top, and lined in a black fabric inside. The shape is oval shaped, and it has a narrow velvet covered loop at one side to help keep the hat in place, plus a large self-covered button at the top back of the hat, from which a black ostrich feather emerges. The full veil is studded at random with tiny rhinestones. A most elegant look! Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. Post war 1940’s and 1950’s saw many women choosing not to wear hats on a regular basis. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. Generally speaking hats remained small and close to the head. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble.
