Vintage 1940。This is indeed a gorgeous hat from the 1940s\'. The black felt hat consists of a round crown, which extends towards the back to create a cap look, which holds the hat in place. The undulating brim is turned down at one front side, which is the \"mysterious\" look of the 30s\' and 40s\'! There are two beautiful black and one white ostrich feathers adorning the top of the hat. The quill of the white feather is visible at the front. There is an elastic band attached to the inside of the hat. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
